Don’t Miss Out!
As of 01 January 2023, due changes in the requirements of the Engineering Council, the governing body for The Welding Institute, the CSWIP registration scheme will be changed and CSWIP certificate holders will no longer be able to apply for Engineering Technician (EngTech) status through the CSWIP registration scheme.
We strongly encourage all of our eligible CSWIP certificate holders (full list here) who wish to take advantage of the current registration scheme to do so before the 31 December 2022. All applications received, prior to 31 December 2022 will be processed under the current rules and will gain TechWeldI and EngTech status, any received from 01 January 2023 will be processed under the new rules and will only be eligible for TechWeldI – no matter what paperwork or application is submitted.
However, all not is lost! From 01 January 2023, applicants will still be able to gain membership of The Welding Institute as a Technician (TechWeldI), via the CSWIP registration scheme. With this membership comes a myriad of benefits, from 5% discount on TWI Training Courses, to access to a wide variety of events that can count towards the CPD requirements of your CSWIP renewal and recertification.
For those certificate holders who have already taken advantage of the CSWIP registration scheme, your renewal process will also change as of 01 January 2023. Your CSWIP registration renewal will remain on a three yearly schedule, and will be processed directly by TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL), the providers of the CSWIP scheme. However, your TechWeldI and EngTech subscription will move to an annual subscription and must be paid directly to The Welding Institute.
Please note that the three yearly schedule is still valid for TechWeldI and EngTech renewals up until 31 December 2022. The Welding Institute strongly encourages anyone due to renew to do so prior to 31 December 2022 so they can avail of this offer. If you renew post 01 January 2023, your renewal fee will only cover one year of TechWeldI and EngTech subscription and you will have to renew again in 2024.
The above changes affect the holders of the following CSWIP certifications:
- Registered Senior Welding Inspector;
- Registered Welding Quality Control Co-ordinator;
- Registered Welding Supervisor;
- Registered Welding Instructor;
- Registered ROV Inspector (3.3U);
- Registered Underwater Inspection Controller (3.4U).
Please note that those individuals who have gained Associate (AWeldI) membership of The Welding Institute through the CSWIP Registration Scheme will also be moving to an annual subscription as well. The three yearly schedule is still valid for renewals up until 31 December 2022 and individuals are encouraged to renew prior to the end of the year to take advantage of the offer. This change affects the following CSWIP certifications:
- Registered Visual Welding Inspector,
- Registered Welding Inspector,
- Registered Underwater Inspector (3.1U and 3.2U)
If you have any questions about the CSWIP registration scheme please contact us, if you have any questions about your AWeldI, TechWeldI or EngTech status please contact The Welding Institute.
