As part of our commitment to safeguarding the industry and ensuring the competence of the individuals operating within it, TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL) provides a free to use verification site wherein everyone – whether you are an employer, client, or certificate holder – can check the validity of a certificate.
The process is simple, all you need is the name of the certificate holder or their certificate number, and their date of birth – both of which are located on their certificate. Input these numbers into the boxes on our verification page then press submit - and voilà! You now have a picture of the individual, details of the certification(s) they hold, and the validity of the certification(s).
However, despite the measures we have put in place to ensure that certificates can be checked for their authenticity, many individuals still seek to gain employment by utilising falsified credentials. As a result of this TWI CL’s Management Committees (made of volunteers from industry – more information about them here) have taken a no tolerance approach to those found to have forged a CSWIP or BGAS-CSWIP certificate. These individuals are banned for life from ever holding another certification from TWI CL and any certificates they do have are revoked.
In a further endeavour to halt the production and use of counterfeit certificates and to aid in the ease of identifying these certificates and/or individuals within industry, TWI CL has taken further action. From 2024 onwards, anyone who has been banned from holding a CSWIP or BGAS-CSWIP certificate will have the relevant details listed on our CSWIP website.
While we hope these extra measures will assist those in identifying fake certifications and reduce the number of certificates that are falsified, it is only part of the solution.
